TECH9: Cost Versus Power Tradeoffs in Sensor System Design, is Win-Win an Option

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session documents proven sensor options and techniques that both reduce system cost while at the same time reduce power consumption in many cases by an order of magnitude. A case study of a battery-powered sensor system is presented with proposed optimization quantified. A functional embedded system that includes cost-power optimized examples of temp, light, proximity magnetic field and motion sensing will be discussed and demonstrated during this live and interactive session. Attendees leave this session with: 1.sensor options and techniques that both reduce both system cost and reduce power 2. how to quantify and measure the benefits 3. pitfalls to avoid in cost-power optimized embedded system design.
