IIoT devices present many challenges, as they have limited resources in terms of CPU, Memory, OS constraints, etc.. These characteristics require careful consideration when it comes to the preferred method of monitoring for failures and threats. Learn the pros and cons of the different methods that could be used for embedded systems: 1) Hardware based - external hardware attached to the system with data analyzed outside of system; 2) Software based - code is added to the system by either integrating into existing application code or as separate processes; 3) Hybrid solution - combination of both hardware and software taking advantage of the benefits of each and minimizing the faults.
