This session will describe real-world, case studies using Industrial Internet of Things technologies in factories and foundries to reduce energy costs and improve manufacturing efficiencies by identifying no-cost and low-cost improvements. Motivated by gas and electric utility company incentive programs, analysis of IIoT measurements and real-time alerts for out-of-normal conditions have revealed natural gas and electricity savings opportunities with return on investment (ROI) periods ranging from a few weeks to a few months. In these case studies, energy savings were always accompanied by productivity improvements, tighter process control, better management oversight, and other production cost reductions. Tables, graphs and charts with results from IIoT measurements will be included.
